A.K (Vocals)‘’ I had always wanted to do a death metal band, so I pitched the idea to a few friends and we eventually got to writing and rehearsing material.
‘’ I remember first hearing Slayer's Reign in Blood album when I was getting into metal and it immediately sparked a desire to find the next level (and beyond) from that. Basically, led me on a journey of trying to find the most extreme examples of music and of course I landed on black/death metal relatively quickly.
New Zealand’s Molosser Self-Titled Debut Ep is an aggressive, convictive piece of extreme death metal that assaults the listener with a ferocity and immediacy that reflect the true uncompromising nature of their music. It is tough and steadfast in self belief, that is barbaric and warlike in its nature. The four tracks reflect a clear statement that is definitive and intense.
A.K - We aimed to push the aggression on our debut release as a statement of intent. There was a lot of rewriting and tweaking to make sure that the music was unrelenting and abrasive as possible.
It is music founded in the horrors of the reals as reflected on the inhumanity that is “Strychnine Hill“
A.K - "Strychnine Hill" is inspired by the atrocities that occurred during the Cambodian Genocide (1975-1979). Reading and hearing about very-real atrocities that humans inflict upon each other strikes a different chord than any gore fantasies ever will.
How do you release anger? Does Vengeance Manifest reflect this?
A.K - Usually I release any pent-up aggression through heavy lifting at the gym, haha. Vengeance Manifest lyrically is more of a blend of a revenge fantasy (with no specific target in mind) and loose inspiration from reading about the Gombe Chimpanzee War, in which chimpanzees were inflicting primal, brutal violence on other chimpanzees in the name of territorial expansion.

The unrelenting military-Esque drum patterns?
A.K - In the song "Strychnine Hill", we were experimenting and seeking inspiration (which we found mainly in Diocletian's Gesundrian album) on how to build the tension leading up to the ultimate release at the end of the song, and the use of that ended up flowing in the context of the song the best.
The definition of Extreme Music?
A.K - It should be relentless and intimidating. You shouldn't feel comfortable listening to it.
