Resonance - Uhritulet- Ruumissavotta

Uhritulet- Ruumissavotta 7.7/10
Formed in 2023 by its sole member V.P is Finland’s Uhritulet. It is a raw Teutonic manifestation of Black Metal that is utterly uncompromising in its stance and delivery. Ruumissavotta is the second release born of clear vison and clarity.
Ruumissavotta is quite simply diabolical. It is a merciless pounding that is openly confrontational and antagonistic as Väärä profeetta (False Prophet) proves, the riffing is cold and the percussion eschews any flash for a repetitious rhythm that adds to the inescapability of the music. Freezing Winds over the Hills of Kolkku is a more subtle affair with a definite sense of rock and roll and classic metal overtones of what is essential a pure black metal record influenced by the German contributors to the nineties movement. Synninpäästö demonstrates this with its sparse bleakness and vocals that captures the essence of the genre, whilst the bonus track of Liekin takaa (demo) makes a raw offering even more so.
Ruumissavotta is representative of a genre where compromise is unacceptable, and extremes are woven in the very fabric of the ideology. It contains a few surprises hidden within the suitably raw production that is the definition of the underground.
