Following up from 2021s moment of extremity Morgues Decadence, Australian extreme identity Tyrannic unleash their third piece of extreme art. ‘’Tyrannic Desolation ‘’ an album that cements their reputation as being a wild force of nature that is undeniably true metal.
Blackened speed metal? Pure unaltered doom? Mere descriptions do not apply to the juggernaut that is Tyrannic and its music. It is a continual barrage of extremity that is remorseless as it is relentless. From the opening moments of ‘’ Prophetic Eyes of Glass’’ through to the title track the progression that began in 2021 continues yet it is a little morel feral, a beast that is uncontrollable in its ferocity. Everything is larger in scope ‘’ Incubus Incarnate’’ and ‘’ Dance On Graves Chained To the Labyrinth’’ are tracks that merge the icy connotations of black metal with epic torturous riffs and excellent percussion that are a slow moving juggernaut or a frenzied icy assault that is part predatory part restless.
Tyrannic Desolation is as forward thinking as it bound to ideals of true extreme metal. The prowess and intensity is apparent on the torturous ‘’Still Life’’. The riffs riddled with anguish and the vocals reflecting that pain whilst closer “Morbid Sanctum” is pure doom metal with its ever evolving riff and unhinged solos. Divine inspiration driven by madness, Tyrannic have delivered an underground masterpiece of extreme art that has no care for convention leaving a literal trail of desolation in its wake, Tyrannic have created a true sense shattering experience .
